Evidently, there is a significant difference between female hands and male hands. Off the top of your head, you could probably come up with some significant differences between the hands of men and women. Female hands tend to be noticeably smaller than men’s. Obviously, male hands are usually more “masculine.” Interestingly enough, studies have shown that women tend to select more “masculine looking hands.” What does this really mean?

Women in studies who selected pictures of more “masculine looking hands” are not necessarily showing a preference for hands without an elaborate manicure. There are more subtle differences in the hands of men and women that are worth noting. It is possible that individuals notice these subtle differences subconsciously.

Subtle Differences in His Hands

Human hands are amazing body parts on men and women. For instance, some people can actually climb surfaces vertically while supporting their entire body weight at times with just a few of their fingertips. This is because hand muscles are much stronger than you might think. When it comes to males and females, testosterone and estrogen levels have a significant impact on finger development.

Just like bodily characteristics that develop in distinctly feminine or masculine ways are usually the product of sex hormones, hormones also play a role in finger development. Women tend have ring and index fingers that are around the same length, whereas men tend to have an index finger that is shorter than the ring finger. Since levels of testosterone and estrogen affect different areas of the brain, a person’s finger height can reveal aspects of a person’s abilities and strengths. You will find a variety of different hands and fingers to hold in Valencia. So take advantage of Valencia accommodations and get the most out of your visit.

If you lived in the the 80 likely Mecano was that band that sounded again and again in your head, plus probably Ana Torroja mesmerized you more than once with her beauty. Mecano split back in the early 90′s. Such was the good vibes given off by the group that their  silence has been a long term nostalgia which so far continues. While Mecano originated with part of what became known as the “Movida Madrilena” bands like Alaska and Pegamoides, Radio Futura, Nacha Pop and Aviator Dro, among others, the sound of this trio was characterized as  exquisite refined pop, at times fun and playful, but at other times a sense of melancholy and ethereal dreams invaded their songs with Ana Torroja gracefully moving across the stage, her high delicate swanlike voice caused the ardor and passion that made this band one of the biggest in Spain.

Mecano started as a synth pop band back in 1981, formed by Nacho and José Cano María, and the diva Ana Torroja in Madrid. With the return of democracy tMecano became known with the song “Hoy no me puedo levantar,” a song about young people going out to party and suffering glamorous hangovers. Their first album thus became a symbol for the youth who lived thatera. The album of the same name, “Mecano” rescued the spirit of the moment and the bold attitude of young people then.

Over the years, the Mecano phenomenon would reach Latin America, where they would have a major success with tracks like “Me cole en tu fiesta,” “Me cuesta tanto olvidarte” and “Hijo de la Luna” Thier album “Descanso Dominical”  from 88, with hits like “La fuerza del Destin” and “Mujer contra Mujer” had covers in French, English and Italian, what further strengthened them on the international scene, crossing language borders. Then, after separataing in 93 they rejoined in 98 and recorded the album “Ana, Jose, Nacho”, a CD  loaded with new songs and greatest hits, once again the band split to start personal projects, bieng Ana the only one to acheive real success as soloist. However, in 2005, Nacho wrote a musical based on 32 songs from the band, the idea behind the musical “Hoy no me puedo levantar”

Launched in 2005, the musical has completed  four seasons in Madrid, went on  tour to 30 cities in Spain as well as a full season in Barcelona  that was an unprecedented success, breaking all records as this musical has made more than two million viewers in Spain vibrate passionately

In one of his wonderful, carnivorous stories, the Flemish writer Bernard Quiriny puts himself in the shoes of a professional assassin, to tell us the tale of how he received a sum of money around the six-digit mark. The person who had to be finished off was a Bulgarian called Yavorov, who had been a mercenary in all of the Soviet block countries. When his death was contracted, Yakorov was working in the Danubian region of Sterpinia, which at the time was the central point for all of Europe’s instability. He worked as a bodyguard and personal assistant to one Gospodinov; a key figure of the country’s political life, and the one guarantor of – though the assassin was unaware of this – the stability of this fictitious region.

Despite the mastery of the executor, at the moment of pulling the trigger, Gospodinov suddenly threw himself into the firing line, getting hit directly in the temple. A shot also took the life of Yakorov, whilst the assassin, suffering from an injured conscience, having killed two men for the price of one, was seized by panic and promptly fled the scene.

When shortly after it was discovered that the army had seized power, thus triggering a bloody civil war which wasn’t to finish until the end of the story, he couldn’t help but think that perhaps the bullet which had fired off the First World War hadn’t actually intended to end the life of the archduke Francisco Fernando, and that “the causes of certain historical tragedies have been due to the blunders of people like me.”

Regardless, what’s certain is that the bullet hit the body of the archduke, and with it, went the period of history known as the Belle Epoque. It was an era characterised by an apparent sense of “calm before the storm.” It was dominated by the tension between an old world which was about to die off, taking with it a whole entrenched concept of civilisation (and in all spheres of life; science, technology, philosophy, sociology, politics, sex, literature, arts) – and the new world, full of possibilities, and hopes, and potential for growth and development.

In the face of the shattering of historical vanguards, the new dominant class sought its identity by imitating the life style of the fallen aristocracy, in the kind of snobbish, social performance which was so well dramatised by Marcel Proust. In this context, the world of art came to be an important medium – particularly portrait art, which reached an unprecedented level of popularity. Proof of this can be found at exhibition Retratos de la Belle Époque, on at the Centro de Carmen, in Valencia (2, Calle Del Museo), until the 30th of June.
