Palacio del Marques de Dos Aguas is located right in the heart of Valencia. This remarkable palace was built during the sixteenth century by the marquesses, who gave the building its original name. Sometime before, it was called the Solariega de los Rabassa de Perellós House, which was the real name of family that won a large fortune during those years.

Over the centuries, the palace has been renovated several times, until the formidable edifice that can be visited today, which actually belongs to the Spanish State. Today, we have the fortune to be able to admire the palace including its furniture and history as well as its National Ceramics Museum Gonzalez Marti. There’s an impressive permanent collection of ceramics from the recent centuries that complement the visit to the Palace.

A small central courtyard, which houses the ticket office and restrooms, welcomes visitors, and after entering the palace, you reach a hall, where you can admire the carriages. Two stunning pieces carrying the Marquis on his rides around town, and a sedan chair, carried by two servants are part of that great legacy.

After climbing the stairs, you reach the first floor where you can tour various rooms. Among these, there are welcoming room where visitors were greeted, a music room, the lounge area, and many private rooms, where the owners of the palace lived. All of them, with furniture that has been kept since its construction.

Most of the pieces date from the eighteenth and nineteenth century, and the building has been renovated to receive visitors. As in any museum, you can’t touch any of the exhibited pieces, but you can admire and imagine how people lived in that mansion that lasted through the centuries.

Upstairs you can visit the Ceramics Museum, and get to know the pieces belonging to the potter, who gave the name to the Museum, as well as a selection of others, arose from the factories in the province, mainly from Manises. This is a journey through the history of Valencia, through one of its strongest industries for centuries.

This palace is located near the Calle de la Paz, the Round Square and the Cathedral of Valencia. Visitors staying in the city don’t want to miss the chance to visit this jewel of the Spanish architecture. Staying downtown close to the hotspots of the city is a must, don’t forget this when and choosing apartments in Valencia

Valencia is fast becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. Its blend of modernity and history make the city of Valencia a spectacular city that will delight everyone. But if we are looking for a holiday, Valencia has much to give. Like all big cities in Spain and southern Europe in general, its nightlife is lively and there are options for everyone, so you will not be disappointed if you choose to party in Valencia.

The first thing to know about partying are the hours. As in Barcelona and Madrid, people go out first for few drinks before going to the clubs. The first drinks are consumed around midnight and people do not go to nightclubs until at least 2 in the morning. The best days to party in Valencia are on Friday and Saturday, but on Thursday and on Monday we can find college parties.

If we go for a drink, we should go to the Carmen area, which is full of bars and pubs where we can have a few drinks to start the evening off right. One of the most famous bars in this area is in the Negret in the Plaza del Negrito , where there are more bars to enjoy. This bar has a terrace that has a welcoming charm also people who go there are of the most diverse ones you can find, but everyone is very cool. If we go down Caballeros street, we can find many bars with music and people of different ages. We can choose the bar we prefer depending on our taste. If we like something more conventional and less alternative Cánovas area also offers a great variety of pubs,

Still, the highlight of Valencia are the clubs and ¡none is more emblematic than Barraca, an institution of electronic music. As it is outside the city limits, to get to it there is a free bus service from the roundabout at the Plaza Zaragoza, between 00:30 and 2:00 a.m., returning there from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 am. If we like indie and rock, Wah-Wah in 52 Campoamor Street offers concerts and a large offer of this type of music. For pachanga and commercial music, the best option is to go to Mirror in C / San Vicente Martir 200, and if we get a flyer, entry is cheaper. If we like the more sophisticated environments, Giorgio & Enrico in Canon Square or Umbracle (Professor Piñero Avenue, 5) may fit more our likings. And if we want to play it safe, Pacha Valencia (C / San Vicente Martir 305) gives us the music that has triumphed and will triumph in the summers of Ibiza.

Valencian night are one of the best in Europe. Plenty of bars and clubs with all genres of music you can imagine are at your fingertips throughout the city, so enjoy it while renting apartments in Valencia

Some people say that spring, alters the blood. Some may think this is nonsense, but what we can’t deny is the fact that when the warm weather arrives, hormones tend to tone up all over the world, for single and unmarried. And the truth is that when the warm weather arrives, we say goodbye to coats and scarves and welcome shorts and t-shirts or tops. To the delight of many men, women in summer dress in a way that pleases the eye, and diverting the attention of many. What do men find attractive about women is a question with a quite obvious answer, but rather something much more complex, is the question of what do women find attractive about men.

Obviously, there are the typical stereotypes that say that a beautiful smile with perfect teeth is a good start, but a recent study by the University of British Columbia in Canada has revealed that women are more attracted to men who don’t smile than to those who smile. Maybe they’re right because if you look at many photos of male underwear catalogs, men normally look pensive or looking to the horizon, but not smiling.

Which brings us to the issue of the eyes. A man with pretty eyes will never have them as a pick up feature, on the contrary. What has been demonstrated is that opposites poles are attracted. If you ask a girl from northern Europe, probably will say that she loves dark men; with dark skin and black eyes and hair. But if you ask a girl from southern Europe, she will tell you otherwise, that she likes blue or green eyes. So, regardless this, it is a fact that a seductive look from the bar of a nightclub, beach or wherever, to a girl, can be all it takes to seduce her.

Speaking of beach, it is undeniable that as the first thing that you analyze of a person is the appearance. If on the beach women see a guy with a sculpted body, they are not going to think if he’s nice or not, they just admire him. Physical attraction is the first thing we see to decide if we like it or not to meet a person further.

Some women also look at the style, clothing, sense of humor, if they are sweet or not … in many things because each person is different and has their own tastes. What is clear is that there are certain things, such as those mentioned above, which are common attractions for many women and if we are lucky to have one or more of these characteristics, we could easier impress a woman.

aleixgwilliam

The important thing is being yourself and, hopefully, during your stay in apartments in Valencia find a girl who likes you as much as you like her. This is the beauty of the unpredictable.

Valencia is famous for many reasons. Whether for its rejuvenated city with new monuments, museums and activities, or for its famous tradition, history and popular festivals like Las Fallas. Anyway, if you talk to any tourist or about Valencia, they normally relate it with “paella”. True, the paella is probably the most typical dish of the city and the region, but many people don’t even try to see beyond in the Valencian cuisine, which is almost a crime. Valencia typical breakfast is a horchata with fartons, a sweet breakfast that will fill our stomach with all necessary strength until lunchtime.

Horchata is a beberage that you should drink very cold. It is white and at first sight looks like a glass of milk. The horchata is made with water, sugar and mashed groundnuts, that are the root of the sedge countersunk. To make this drink, we need to wash the nuts, and then you smash them, let this soak for sometime and then percolate it. Add sugar and mix it to obtain the final result. Meanwhile, the cold water is added slowly to the get the final result. This drink , that was first invented in the ancient Egypt became popular in Spain and is today one of the most popular summer drinks not only in Valencia but throughout the peninsula.

The fartons is what gets wet in the horchata. They are sweets biscuits with a spongy texture that are normally eaten hot, making the contrast between the cold horchata and absorb all the liquid so the bite is extremely delicious. Not only can be taken with horchata but also with other breakfast drinks like hot chocolate or coffee with milk, but with horchata is how they taste the best, due to the mentioned temperature contrast. Fartons have an elongated shape and are covered with icing sugar. They are prepared in a very easy way, it only requires water or milk, eggs, flour, oil, yeast and sugar. Mix eggs, milk or water (preferably milk to give it a creamier taste) sugar and oil. Then you add the flour gradually until you get a homogeneous mass. You give them the elongated shape and bake them for 10-12 minutes having put some icing sugar on top. Then, remove from oven and served hot. A delight.

Valencian cuisine is much more than paella, so when renting apartments in Valencia leave home early in the morning and go to enjoy a great breakfast with horchata and fartons. You can also have them in the afternoon as a snack but if for breakfast, they will give you all the strength to visit the city and not to get hungry until mealtime.

Among many other dilemmas at the moment inSpainthere is also the issue of airports. Thinking that the construction of an airport in a region with more than 50,000 inhabitants may facilitate tourism and generate more revenue is like believing you can cover the sun with one finger. The influx of tourists is not the same everywhere. And generating an influx of tourists does not guarantee major currencies and conversely, the huge investment necessary for the construction of an airport is highly risky in times of crisis.

The airports in Lleida,Ciudad Realand Castellon, for example, are practically abandoned, literally ghost airports, due to the lack of research that should have been conducted before their construction. Maybe they are just the results of demagogic processes by the same local governments. Before the word crisis was known inSpain, many pushed for the building construction as well as for airports and not simply to support better public and private services. Governments and companies believe that the construction of public spaces – as the public face of the city – is a sign of well-being and progress. Nothing is more wrong.

The tourism industry relies on many factors beyond simply the transit of visitors. Airports do not solve anything. A city can have tourism potential if it has three key factors: historical past, contemporary culture, and rapid consumption. The historical past may be essential to build a rhetoric about the city; the churches, the buildings, and the plazas are all remains of a vanished past and are important for helping define the character of the new modern city. Connecting the present with the past gives the city character and allows it to be brought into a dialogue with the history of other cities and towns.

When speaking of contemporary culture, one must be able to find galleries, museums and libraries as well as other modern spaces such as record stores or boutiques for alternative clothing. Similarly, study programs, discussions, and intellectual and political dialogues have the possibility of bringing a city into global dialogues. In addition to all of this, one needs citizens and tourists who are willing to spend enough on food, drink, and fun to make the formula complete. If the city is also dynamic and has an efficient public transportation system and an appropriately urban disposition, there is not way to lose money, just the opposite.

When considering the airport issue, one should also consider the predatory competition of the many airlines inEurope. Under the pretext of providing cheaper services, many of these companies reduce the cost of their flights to entice customers. The services are not really that great, and when they choose airports, these transnational airlines only travel to those that generate foreign currency. The logic is clear: more airports means that the airlines have all that many more airports to whom they can give the cold shoulder.

Rent apartments in Valencia and discover this beautiful city in spring. Be sure to look for new forms of transportation in Spain. There is so much more than just airports.

A trip with our children can be a pleasurable experience or a nightmare. Being on either side of the line, depends on our attitude towards life and the organization of the trip. In this sense, the better prepared we are for the adventure, better chances we have that everything works out well. And with regard to the position on the facts and events, needless to say that the outputs with our children can become almost an act of initiation with the ability to give us a new vision of the world. I know that there are dads and moms who choose to leave the kids with grandparents, that certainly is a bad choice, because with our children we can provide ourselves and them an enriching experience, even when things get ugly.

Bioparc, and Gulliver Park

If you travel to Valencia, you have a easy accessible kid loving area at the beach, but that is not the intent of this post. So, regardless of the age of the children, there are two places that can help us if they get bored from sightseeing or visits to the monumental spaces. One is the Bioparc and the other the Gulliver Park. I attach the URL of a sister guide with all the practical information that does not fit in this space: http://www.only-apartments.com/guide/category/valencia/family-kids-valencia/. While Gulliver Park is a unique playground built between a sculptor and an Fallas artist (we are in Valencia) representing the time-scale arrival of Gulliver to Lilliput, Bioparc is one of the most interesting outdoors zoos in the country.

By the River Turia, surrounded by greenery, Gulliver Park is dominated by a huge sculpture of the hero of Swift’s books and is made up of ramps, ladders, monkey bars and various attractions for the children where they can go all over the body of giant Gulliver who is tied down and lying on the ground.

On the other hand, the Bioparc located on Avenida Pio Baroja and is a modern zoo has nothing to do with the typical zoo idea, heirs to the circus, where they exhibited caged animals in poor hygienic conditions. Against this cruel practice you have the Bioparc, where beasts roam in semi-freedom in fenced enclosures that recreate their natural habitat. Priority is given to the apes, but there are elephants, giraffes, lions, lemurs and birds.

If your children are over six they can enjoy activities at the Oceanography musesum or tour various other museums. Remember that the IVAM, for example, performs activities for all ages and in this blog we often take due account of its presentations and workshops in programming.

Most athletes have an appointment with the Municipal Sailing School offering lessons in sailing and racing for the enjoyment of the whole family. We reemphasize the guidance outlined above, because here you will find all kinds of services, events and meetings to fit the older and the small ones .

Someone noted in the Bible: that ” By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat”, trying to somehow dignify the nightmare that can sometimes be to work. Today, we are living in times of crisis in Europe, and getting a job is being a complete adventure, a real mission impossible. So, there is only in our memories the good times in Spain, when only a few years ago there was the possibility of finding work from one week to another, within any profession or business. Unfortunately things have changed and now it’s time to try to be as creative as possible to succeed.

But what if beyond the crisis, we do not want to work anymore? In some cases, many people begin to earn a salary at a very young age, perhaps sixteen or seventeen. Many young people are already looking for ways to make money before finishing school. The reasons are many; perhaps the main one is the desire for independence and get distance from family. Thus, without realizing it, many have worked for more than twenty or fifteen years and by the time they reached thirty are quite exhausted from the professions, jobs, bosses, and the headache that this implies.

If you do not want to work, or you’re just so tired of the work that you have, a good solution may be to start a business on your own something with the potential to be sold and promoted online, for example. Social networks are now an essential element of any product. A good account on Facebook and Twitter, can ensure that your product, whatever it is, has visibility and compete effectively with other similar products.

If you think twice about this, we realize that it isn’t the work itself and the economic benefits what make us feel fed up, but it is the dependence on a contract for example, its implications, the “security” that this contract gives us, Appart of that at economic and psychological level, the job security and emotional well-being provides a purpose to devote our time and effort. Life is directed to work, for better or for worse.

These days, in Valencia and in Spain, considering to leave a job is very risky because of the instability that exists. Looking for alternative solutions to get some extra money is certainly one of the best ways to beat the crisis. Do not wait for the government to generate solutions or changes. Go out and raise our voice is good and we should continue doing it. Also think about you and your family, your well-being and the possibilities of generating new economies that can further help to bail out such a beautiful country like Spain.

The formula to flirt hasn’t been invented yet, unfortunately. Many single women and men who go out at night trying to find some adventure, meet someone nice and, with a bit of luck and effort, take them back to bed. We’ve all tried to flirt at some point with good and terrible results. What makes a ‘hunting’ night successful? If you’re thinking of going out to flirt, the first thing you need to know is that you need to go out dressed as cool as possible. Flirting in a bar or a club has little to do with your education, customs or job; it’s more about the image. A provocative dress, some tight trousers and their respective accessories can give you many points when it comes to coming onto another person. The dialogue that takes place in these situations can be somewhat reduced, because it’s probably that the person you like or that likes you has no interests in common with you. Flirting is about desire, not about starting a relationship in the middle of the dancefloor surrounded by sweat and noise.

Regarding the conversation subject when it comes to flirting, what must prevail is definitely a confident attitude. Showing confidence and personality is a strong aphrodisiac in both men and women for each other. It’s not enough to go with the right clothes if you don’t know how to ‘wear’ them, move with them and go with the flow and the atmosphere that you’re surrounded by. It will be useless to stand to one side trying to be the party rebel if everyone is jumping and dancing drunk behaving in a spontaneous manner. You just have to go with the flow, there’s no other option.

If the dialogue is started and the drinks keep coming, it comes down to charisma and the enthusiasm of flirting with another person. Alcohol helps, no doubt, so don’t be worried about making the first step when you have the chance and you see the other person approaching you. Good humour is also fundamental, with pleasant jokes and smiles. Someone once said that if you make someone laugh, you’re one step away from taking them to bed with you. These strategies can be very useful but some unexpected things always appear which break the norm. Stay aware to improvise and follow the flow of the situation. If you feel that the person you’re interested in doesn’t show much interest, don’t get frustrated.

Sometimes, many people who flirt with each other end up not seeing each other ever again or find the love of their lives. The results of experience are unlimited. What’s true is that looking for love and sex is a risky task through which all of us, undoubtedly, have to go through to get the best out of life.

Plácido Domingo will give a concert at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía with works by Beethoven, Dvořák and Manuel de Falla on April 26. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía is the opera house and cultural center of Valencia. It is a magnificent work of architecture designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

Plácido Domingo was born in Madrid in 1941. He learned much from his parents, who owned a zarzuela company, and this helped him become a distinguished multi-faceted artist. Growing up amidst the rehearsals and productions in an atmosphere rife with hard work and sacrifice must have greatly influenced the trajectory as his operatic career.

He and his sister went to live in Mexico with an aunt when Plácido Domingo was 8 years old. His parents, whom he didn’t see for about 2 years, were on tour in Latin America. He studied music at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico and began to perform some operatic roles for children.

He sang in his first important opera in Monterrey on May 19, 1961, performing the role of Alfred in La Traviata. On September 30, 1961, he took part in Tosca de Puccini and was popular with the audience. In 1962 he left with his wife for Israel, where he triumphed as a tenor in the Israeli opera house in Tel Aviv. There he performed more than 200 times over a little more than two years.

Afterwards, he soon achieved worldwide success. He has now performed some 134 operatic roles throughout his career.

Plácido Domingo is justifiably a very well sought-after artist. His professional career of more than 50 years speaks for itself. He is now 71 years old and his voice continues to be exquisite, energetic and strong, allowing him to continue performing his impeccable renditions of our favorite works.

Although he is a tenor, his repertoire is very diverse – dramatic, lyrical, zarzuela… His voice adapts in a chameleon-like way to Verdi, Wagner, Puccini… Not all opera singes can adapt that well to such diverse works. Although he has been criticized for having had such diversity, Plácido Domingo is specialized in all genres.

He is also valued for his ability to attract people from different social circles to the opera. In 1981 he released the album Perhaps Love with John Denver, which was a great success. Between 1990 and 2000 he became one of the Three Tenors, together with José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti, with whom he released a series of albums and performed a series of very popular, large-scale concerts. The Three Tenors in Concert album holds the Guiness World Record as the best-selling classical album in history.

He is a multi-faceted artist. In addition to his work as a tenor, he has served as general director of the Washington National Opera and the Los Angeles Opera. He is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Oxford, Harvard and Madrid, among other universities.

Plácido Domingo is passionate about everything he does and very much loved by the public. He is a perfectionist and tireless in his work. The antithesis of a diva, he is humble and continues to have an infinite capacity to learn.

Don’t miss the concert by Plácido Domingo on April 26. Even if you are not that familiar with the world of opera, you are guaranteed to develop a strong feeling for opera after this event.

Advertising has become an essential part of our lives. In the XXI century, it is unthinkable understanding reality without this mean of communication whose main function is to propose the use of various products, ideas, life choices, etc… With the growth of Internet usage worldwide, today we have access to advertising from around the world. A simple analysis of these television commercials, advertising posters or radio messages can gives us a better idea of the idiosyncrasies of different cultures and their way of approaching the use and dissemination of information.

Consumption in the network depends on a single “click”. Web pages everywhere seek to increase their position in the network through advertising that attracts potential customers. For this, various strategies have been created such as “pop ups” or advertising boxes, usually at the edges of the page you visit. Facebook for example, always has suggestions that appear when you navigate your options. Access to social networks have your ip address which allows them to have an close idea of what are the contents you visit with more frequency on the web. Thus, the bombing of spam mail and advertising in your favorite websites is conditioned on your daily explorations.
Internet today more than ever, and into the future, is looking to become more efficient and faster, with the ability to switch from one product to another immediately. Advertising is your best tool. It’s your decision to address advertising smartly or passively. Pay attention especially to what advertising is saying, read between the lines, in an add for drinks, cigarettes, cars or any other product, subliminal and direct messages ranging from sexist discrimination, social class or political power can be enclosed. The main visual messages using advertising works at an unconscious level, and make us cling to certain products without noticing.

On the other hand, thanks to its its massive scope and ability to convey specific ideas, advertising can also be used positively, for example: The latest political activism against political authoritarianism, economic abuse of banks and the global crisis. In this case, broadcast advertising networks make us react or take action against the state of the world, a undoubtedly highly effective tool. Unlike other times, although we are bombarded morethan ever by advertising manipulation, we have all the necessary tools to combat the vortex of consumption. Programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign, and networking tools like Twitter and Facebook, allow us to turn the advertising mechanism around and use it creatively for better causes and towards a smarter consumption.
